CP Llanandras were due to head to Hinton Reserves on Tuesday 22 December for another attempt to play their Bucknell Cup first-round tie, but this game has already been postponed.
Hinton FC officials tell us their pitch has been frozen solid for the past three days and there is little chance of there being much improvement between now and tomorrow night, so the sensible step was to call off the game and try to rearrange it for the new year.
In other news, the music night at the club on Saturday night sounds as though it was a resounding success – at least it was in the view of the punters I have spoken to.
Exact figures on money made etc are not yet to hand, but well done to Will Edwards and his helpers for organising and running what sounds to have been a highly successful event.
Thanks also to Dot Griffiths who has spent the past few weeks extracting prizes from supporters and friends of the club and making sure tickets were sold for the Christmas Draw that was held at the Farmers Inn on Sunday 20 December.
Such events are crucial to Presteigne St Andrews being able to field four teams throughout the season and the work that goes into raising the cash often goes unnoticed, so hats off to everyone involved, and to Will and Dot in particular.
A reminder that the next social event down at the clubhouse will be the FIFA 10 tournament – also organised by Will Edwards – that is being held on Wednesday 30 December. For all the details, go to the Social Events page of the site and look on the drop down menu.
