Presteigne St Andrews FC will open their Spar Mid Wales League, second division campaign on Saturday, 16 August.
Jamie Allen and Adie Bennett will be hoping to get off to a good start when Builth Wells come to Llanandras Park for the opener.
Builth Wells were relegated from the first division at the end of last season and, as with most clubs at this level, have been reshaping their squad for the coming season.
Presteigne’s management duo will be fairly happy by the way in which things have gone during pre-season but they will know better than most that the warm-up games are – at best – only a guide and the real stuff tends to be very different so they will be very keen to hit the ground running.
After Saturday’s match, there will be a midweek trip to Penybont to look forward to, so Presteigne will start against a side relegated from the division above and then follow it up with a trip to a team promoted from the league below.
There is no game for the Reserves this weekend – they will start their Mid Wales League (South) season with a home game against Llandrindod Wells Reserves on Thursday, 21 August.
The kick off at Llanandras Park on Saturday afternoon will be at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
It is the start of a new era for the club and so, if you are at a loose end, then why not get down to Llanandras Park and get behind the side?
