Presteigne St Andrews FC picked up a point from their opening-day Spar Mid Wales League, second division game against Builth Wells at Llanandras Park.
Early details have been scarce, but I have been able to glean that Ieuan Crowe was on the score sheet for Presteigne, while the side then had to come from behind late on to salvage a point courtesy of an own goal by an unfortunate Builth player.
Presteigne had other good chances – most notably, perhaps, from the penalty spot but the opportunity was to go begging.
The general view was that this was a good work out for both sides, but probably both are short of being the finished article.
I will add in more details when I get them on Monday, but we are at least off and running in terms of the league table.
Next up: Penybont away on Wednesday, 20 August where the kick off will be at 6.30pm.
