The Mid Wales League (South) Secretary Paul Worts has today announced that all scheduled games for the coming weekend have been postponed.
Due to Emrys Morgan Cup and Central Wales Cup ties scheduled for Saturday 16 January, Paul plans to forward a revised fixture list as soon as it is confirmed just which clubs are likely to be involved in those cup ties.
However, the weather forecast indicates there is little chance of the wintry conditions easing between now and then, so this could further add to the problems.
Given the fixture backlog the league is now facing, it is planned to schedule Saturday and Sunday fixtures for the first and last weekends of March – so squads need to be prepared to play on Sunday 7 and Sunday 28 March.
It is further intended to double up on the first weekend of February – so Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 – although Paul admits this could be ambitious…
The Reserves are likely to have midweek home games later in the season as the plan is to utilise those grounds with floodlights in an effort to catch up.
