Otway Cup progress for Hay St Marys

Hay St Marys are into the last four of the Presteigne Otway  Cup after a comprehensive 8-0 win over Orleton Colts in their quarter-final tie on Wednesday, 9 March.

Credit to both sides for having the foresight to arrange for the tie to be played on the 3G surface at Ludlow Town FC so as to ensure it would not be further affected by the weather.

Hay led 5-0 at the break and Orleton must have thought it was going to be one of those nights when they were awarded a penalty, only to then see their spot kick cannon back off the cross bar and away to safety.

Hay added three more goals after the interval to run out comfortable winners and so they can now look forward to a semi-final tie.

Our thanks to Orleton Colts for entering the competition this season and here’s hoping you are back again in the 2016-17 campaign.
