Spar Mid Wales League secretary Phil Woosnam has confirmed there are 19 applications for places in the new second division for next season.
He lists them as follows: Aberaeron; Tregaron; Bont; Seasiders; Talgarth (presumably Town); Rhosgoch; Penybont (presumably United); Knighton Town; CP Llanandras; Llandrindod Wells; Builth Wells; Llanidloes Town; Four Crosses; Kerry; Meifod; Montgomery; Morda; Llanfair Utd and Abermule.
Seasiders are reportedly the current Aberystwyth Reserves side who are changing names as Reserve teams are excluded from the Spar as from next season but whether they will be able to qualify without coming through the feeder leagues is yet to be confirmed.
Morda are based in England so their likely involvement is questionable as Bishops Castle were denied promotion.
Phil Woosnam points out that this is merely a list of clubs that have applied for a place – just because they are on the list doesn’t mean they are accepted, while he also emphasises those clubs that finish in the top two places in the feeder leagues are eligible to apply for places in the first division.
The make up of the second division will also clearly be dependent on the number of central Wales-based clubs relegated from higher up the pyramid into the first division of the Spar Mid Wales League.
