The committee meeting scheduled for the Farmers Inn tonight (Wednesday 13 January) has been postponed.
Once again, there are no prizes for guessing that the reason for this is the latest dump of snow to have landed on God’s own country and club chairman Alan Randell decided there was precious little point in dragging everyone out for a meeting that half of them would not have been able to get to anyway.
No new date has been arranged but Alan will doubtless circulate committee members with the details when a decision is made.
Prospects for the weekend matches are not looking good – while a thaw is due to set in on Friday and Saturday this will probably come a bit too late for this weekend.
There were five inches of snow on the pitch at earlier this week and the latest snowfall is clearly only going to add to the problems. So, while the matches remain ‘on’ at the moment, Alan and others are going to have to take a rain/snow check on that as we get nearer the weekend.
