Presteigne St Andrews manager Tim Broome has confirmed he has decided not to pursue his efforts to sign the Westfields central defender Tom Sparey.
The club had put in a formal request to bring the former Shrewsbury Town youth team player to Llanandras Park but the recent poor weather has led to Tim having a re-think over this one.
“We currently have Shane Sutton, Max Powell and Luke Boundford all competing for centre back spots,” he said.
“Therefore I could not guarantee Tom a regular starting place but I wish him all the best at Westfields,” he added.
While the weather is again likely to have the decisive say in the prospects for Saturday’s game against Llanfyllin Town, there is a preview on the first-team page of the site, including more from Tim on his transfer plans.
