Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Tom Ammonds felt the 2-1 home defeat by Spar Mid Wales League, second-division leaders Kerry was further evidence of the old sporting adage that ‘when you are struggling, nothing runs for you’.

Presteigne battled hard in the Llanandras Park mud on Saturday, 11 February and must have thought they had done enough to secure a point only to have it snatched away from them at the death.

Kerry scored the winner with only two minutes remaining on the watch and, while Presteigne forced a couple of stoppage-time corners, there was to be no way back.

Presteigne will be back in action at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 18 February when they will host Dyffryn Banw.

Please note: the kick off for this match will be at the later time of 3.00pm in order to allow club officials and supporters to attend the funeral of the former Presteigne player Johnny Morris on Saturday morning.
