Another busy weekend in prospect

defending_v_llanidloesAll three senior teams will be in action on Saturday 5 September with only the first team facing an away trip.

They will head to Llanfyllin Town in the Spar Mid Wales League looking for the result they need end a three-game losing run.

Llanfyllin are without a win so far this season, but they are level on points with Presteigne in the league table as they have become the draw specialists – three of their matches so far have ended all square.  They have been involved in some high-scoring affairs, too – 4-4 at home to Aberystwyth Reserves, and 3-3 when Dyffryn Banw were the visitors.

There is better news for manager Tim Broome with regard to the injury problems that have blighted his season so far – more details on this can be found on the First Team page on this site.  Directions can be found on Llanfyllin’s website.

Barry Williams’ Reserve side will entertain Talgarth Town at Llanandras Park.  Barry will have to make changes due to first-team call-ups but his side will still be based on that  that beat Llandrindod Wells Colts on Thursday night.   Detailed team news can be found on the Reserves page of this site.

Talgarth Town are (to paraphrase Prince in his weird stage) ‘The Artists formerly known as Gwernyfed’, so are likely to present a decent test.   Kick off will be at 2.30 pm.

Meanwhile, on the John Beddoes School field, CP Llanandras will host Sennybridge when the home side will again go in search of that first league win of the season.   There was enough in the first-half performance against Newcastle in the week to suggest that victory might not be too far away.

Andy Crowe is again likely to select from a largely unchanged squad for this one.  The kick off will be at 2.30pm.
