Presteigne St Andrews FC will continue their build up to the new MMP with Norman Lloyd league season with a trip to Ludlow Town on Saturday, 28 July.
To be entirely accurate they are now known as AFC Ludlow and play their league football in the Mercian League Premier Division.
Ther have been encouraging showings so far in the draws at Bartestree and at home to Clee Hill, the latter of which saw a very young Presteigne side keep its collective cool in going on to win a penalty shoot out.
By doing so they claimed their first trophy of the season in taking the club’s own Otway Cup.
AFC Ludlow is likely to be another serious test of Shaun Harris’ side but it’s probably just the sort of game he and the side would have been looking for at this stage of their pre-season.
So, here’s hoping this can prove another step in the right direction for the first team although, as is usual at this stage of the build up, much will doubtless depend on the availability of players for both sides.
With the holiday and festival season in full cry, it’s always difficult to read too much into these matches.
But it could be a good encounter – the kick off at the Showtime Security Stadium will be at 2.30pm.
