Presteigne St Andrews FC will be without a host of players as they prepare for their FAW Cup tie at Borth United on Saturday, 1 September.
Shaun was doing little to hide his frustration when approached for team news ahead of the trip to the Ceredigion coast.
“Unfortunately we will be travelling very light for this one as a mixture of holidays and weddings has struck again,” he said.
“Just to put in in context, I am without 12 players who could easily have featured in this game.
“Josh Gardner, Jamie Blythe, Robin Baker, Chris Evans, Mike Evans, Ioan Hughes, Sammy Harrison, Marcus Pearce, Rob Taylor, Jack Stubbs, Adam Crowe and Matt Venables are all unavailable,” he added.
Taking nothing away for the players who will be making the trip – good on them for making the effort – it is hugely frustrating for everyone involved.
We accept that little can be done about the dates people fix for their weddings but this is hardly the first year in which we have been short of players for what is, after all, the premier national cup competition.
A reminder that there is no game for the Reserves this weekend – they were due to take on St Harmon but this match was postponed due to – a wedding!
