Presteigne St Andrews FC exited the Welsh Cup at the first-round stage when they were beaten 2-0 by Borth United on Saturday, 1 September.
But this was a battling performance by a much-depleted Presteigne squad.
Manager Shaun Harris had no fewer than 12 players unavailable for the trip to the Ceredigion coast and travelled with only 12 players.
So, full credit to those players who did make the trip for putting up a good showing against a Borth side that was playing in the first division of the Spar Mid Wales League last season.
After a goal-less first half, Borth pushed on after the break and goals from Ryan Davies and Guto Hughes saw the home side through to the victory.
But, by all accounts, the Presteigne squad kept going right to the end and so they came out of the game with a lot of credit for their efforts.
It was all hugely frustrating for Shaun and the committee as entering the Welsh Cup is not a cheap exercise and to travel light in terms of numbers is clearly not ideal.
But, just to reiterate, well done to the lads who did make the trip for putting up a good performance.
