Pitch inspection due at 1.00pm

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s secretary Tom Ammonds has confirmed it is planned to hold a pitch inspection ahead of the Central Wales Cup tie against Hay St Mary’s on Friday, 12 October.

For the benefit of those who don’t live in the immediate area, there has been no shortage of the ‘soft refreshing’ overnight and the promise of more to come this afternoon.

So, club officials will take a look at the Llanandras Park playing surface at around 1.00pm this afternoon.

I am reliably informed that Karl Chapman is working down at the ground today on ‘matters electrical’ and his considered opinion is that the pitch is ‘squidgy’ in places.

I love it when we are all over the technical terms although, given Chappie’s love of horse racing, I am only surprised he didn’t say ‘good to soft in places’…

But, just to stress, the game remains very much ‘on’ at the moment – check back here later for any further news.
