My thanks to first-team manager Shaun Harris who has been in touch with his thoughts on the 4-3 home win over Aberystwyth University on Tuesday, 30 October.
“Nobody wanted to say it beforehand but this really was a ‘must-win’ game,” said Shaun.
“That’s in no way to disrespect Aberystwyth University but for us being at home under lights we were confident.
“Having started last night’s game with pretty much the same line up that finished the game at Borth, we managed to carry on with some good attacking play.
“The new front line of Tom Crichton, Tom Lewis and Jordan Cooper looked a real handful from the off.
“This was backed up by a great performance from Ewan Rhodes.
“I thought we defended well last night but somehow still leaked yet more goals.
“It was a first appearance from Jordan Griffiths stepping up from the reserves and he looked more than comfortable on last night’s performance playing alongside Liam Tomkins who again impressed.
“I’m hoping Liam will be staying with the first from now on and I’ve told him that.
“Jordan Griffiths is unfortunately away this weekend so won’t be with us for Saturdays game.
“I would also like to add that last night’s game would have been a lot tougher if it wasn’t for the help of the reserves’ management team and players for helping out.
“We are now all on the same page and it makes life much easier for mid-week games.”
