The Reserves have home advantage this weekend

Presteigne St Andrews FC and Presteigne Reserves will both be in action on Saturday, 24 November.

Shaun Harris will take his first-team squad across Radnorshire for a MMP with Norman Lloyd League, second division game at Rhayader Town.

Rhayader are upwardly mobile having won promotion from the Mid Wales League (South) last season and they currently sit in fifth spot in the table.

While they are yet to win away from Weirglodd this season, Rhayader’s home form is pretty smoky with five wins from six on their own patch.

Their only reversal came at the hands of Montgomery Town who headed home with a 4-2 victory back in early September.

So, a tough game in prospect for the first team but here’s hoping Shaun’s side can rise to the challenge.

As for the Reserves, they are at Llanandras Park for their Mid Wales League (South) fixture.

Alan Stocker and Tom Ammonds’ side will host Hay St Mary’s Reserves in what will – almost incredibly – be the Ressies’ first Saturday-afternoon home league game of the season.

Tom Ammonds is clear about one thing – it needs to be a whole lot better than it was last week at Llandrindod Wells Reserves.

“We have to be looking to majorly impove on last week’s performance at Llan’dod and we have moved the squad around about a little,” said Tom.

“Jordan Griffiths is unavailable and we welcome back Shane Griffiths and Bobby Bird into the match day squad.

“Bailey Latham and Lewis Jones make their first starts for the club after impressing in training and, with them just turning 16, we feel it is time the right time for them to make their debuts.

“Obviously Hay have been struggling but we will take nothing for granted as we aim to get back to winning ways.

“It is nice to have a home game on a Saturday – our first of the season.

“We are hoping the squad remains for a few beers after the game in the clubhouse but paramount before this is getting three points.”
