It’s a home game for the first team on Saturday

Presteigne St Andrews FC will be back in MMP with Norman Lloyd League, second-division action on Saturday, 29 December when Dyffryn Banw will be the visitors to Llanandras Park.

After the defeat at Hay St Mary’s on Boxing Day, manager Shaun Harris will be keen to turn things around in this one, but the long injury list could again impact on his plans.

Shaun was without around a dozen players for the home game against Borth United in the run up to the Christmas period so it’s to be hoped that situation has eased to some degree.

As for Dyffryn Banw, they shaded the first game between the sides this season when they ran out 1-0 winners up at their place at the back end of September.

The Montgomeryshire club is currently seventh in the table with 15 points from their opening 14 games – that’s seven points better off than ourselves.

They were involved in a right royal battle with Dolgellau on Boxing Day which ended in a 4-4 draw.

In fact, there were goals aplenty right across the second division programme on Wednesday with no fewer than 39 scored in the six matches.

So, here’s hoping the first team can round off 2018 on a high note – the kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and admission prices will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
