It’s a home game for the first team on Saturday

Presteigne St Andrews FC will be back in MMP with Norman Lloyd League second-division action on Saturday, 26 January.

They will take on Rhayader Town at Llanandras Park where the kick off will be at 2.30pm.

A couple of battling performances in 3-3 draws at home to Hay St Mary’s and then away at Abermule have breathed a bit of life back into a Presteigne season that was threatening to fade away.

Shaun Harris’ side is now eight points clear of bottom-of-the-table Aberystwyth University but will know there is no room for complacency as the students have no fewer than six games in hand.

As for Rhayader Town, they are fifth in the table in what is their first season back at this level following promotion last season from the Mid Wales League (South).

Rhayader’s home record is very solid – they have won six and of their 9 matches at the Weirglodd so far this season.

But, as with most clubs, their away form hasn’t been as strong with only one victory in eight attempts on the road.

There is no game for the Reserves this weekend.

Admission prices for the first team game will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
