A home win for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves ran out 2-0 winners over Felindre in their Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 30 March.

While the Reserves would have gone into the game as favourites, they would have been well aware they had been held to a draw at Felindre in the first meeting of the season.

While this game will probably not be filed under the category marked: ‘Classic matches’, Alan Stocker’s side got the job done to record their sixth league win of the season.

Tom Lewis and Jack Brindley were the goalscorers for the Reserves in this one but they were also indebted to Liam Tomkins who saved a Felindre penalty in the second half.

Given the score was 1-0 at that stage this was clearly a critical moment of the game but the Reserves were then able to go on to close out the victory.

The Reserves currently sit in ninth place in the table but will hope to improve on that in their three remaining league matches.
