This month has seen the passing of a minor landmark in that, as the headline suggests, the club website has reached its 10th anniversary.
A committee meeting in the summer of 2009 agreed there should be a club website and it was determined we should seek out expert advice to set one up.
This was achieved and we went ‘live’ in late August of that year.
There have since been more than 3,200 posts on the home page as well as all the material that is featured on the many other pages on the site all of which serves to illustrate just how much goes on at Llanandras Park.
My thanks to everyone who has contributed to the site over the past decade either through doing interviews, providing me with reports or photos or other material that has gone up online during that period.
There are 10 years of posts still available online – if you are really that interested, you can trawl back through them through the drop-down menu on the News Archive section of the site on the bottom right-hand side of the page.
But, in order to save you the bother, this was the first-ever post that went up online in August 2009 when we were running three teams – but many of the problems facing the managers were pretty much the same!
Presteigne’s sides produced a mixed set of results on Saturday 29 August with a win, a draw and a defeat. The first team’s injury problems deepened and manager Tim Broome was forced to call on Barry Williams’ reserve squad to supplement his line up for the trip to Llanrhaeadr.
Despite their best efforts to regroup, it wasn’t to be for Presteigne as they slipped to their third successive Spar Mid Wales League defeat going down 3-1.
It was much better news for the Reserves as they overcame the loss of their players to the first team to hammer St Harmon 5-0 at Llanandras Park. While they scored five, the Reserves’ margin of victory could have been far greater as they had six goals disallowed.
CP Llanandras picked up another point in this their debut season in the Mid Wales League (South) as they drew 2-2 at Newbridge Reserves.
