Presteigne St Andrews FC conceded a last-minute goal in going down 5-4 in their MMP with Norman Lloyd, second-division match at Rhayader Town on Tuesday, 20 August.
Tommy Rowlands put Rhayader ahead in the 13th minute, but Presteigne rallied and were level 14 minutes later when Tom Crichton netted.
But two goals in five minutes just after the half-hour mark from Aaron Bates and Ryan Addison gave the Kites a healthy 3-1 half-time advantage.
Six minutes after the break Tom Crichton was again on target for Presteigne while a Rhayader own goal then saw parity restored at 3-3.
Taylor Wozencraft put the home side back in front on 73 minutes, but Presteigne rallied again and a Lewis Jones strike eight minutes from time appeared to have earned them a draw.
But Rhayader substitute Jordan McFadden was to have the final say as he scored in the final minute of the match to make it 5-4 and so ensured Presteigne returned home empty-handed.
This was tough on the first team squad who reportedly battled hard throughout this one.
Bbut no doubt manager Terry Williams would probably agree that, while scoring goals is apparently not an issue for his young side, the fact they have shipped 18 in their first three games is an area on which they will have to focus in the coming weeks.
