Reserves to head ‘over the hill’ on Friday

Presteigne Reserves will return to Mid Wales League (South) action on Friday, 27 September.

They will make the short trip to Knighton Town Reserves for a game that is due to kick off at 7.30pm.

Bryn Roberts’ side will be keen to get the show back on the road after the 3-0 defeat at Builth Wells Reserves in their last outing.

But points are proving hard to come by for both of our sides so far this season and so they’ll be taking nothing for granted.

Knighton are having an equally tough time of it this season with both our Reserves and theirs feeling the full force of Brecon Corries in the early part of their respective campaigns.

While Presteigne Reserves were on the wrong end of a 16-0 defeat in their first match of the season, Knighton’s second string went down 27-0 against the same opponents, who have since also put 20 goals past Felindre.

Knighton Town Reserves go into this encounter a point and a place better off than Presteigne Reserves with both sides in the bottom three places in the division.

But Bryn Roberts’ side does have a game in hand over Friday night’s hosts so it could be argued there’s not a lot to choose between the teams.

So, a 7.30pm kick off at Bryn-y-Castell for this one and here’s hoping Bryn’s boys bring back the bacon.
