Presteigne Reserves were beaten 5-2 in their Mid Wales League (South) game at Knighton Town Reserves on Friday, 27 September.
Knighton’s second string hadn’t won a league game since 24 August but they proved too good on the night for the Reserves.
Early reports suggest the game was tighter than the score line might have suggested and that Bryn Roberts’ side didn’t necessarily get the rub of the green.
Sam Roberts and Fin Özsoylu were on target for the Reserves in this one.
Sadly, results elsewhere over the weekend mean that the Reserves are now bottom of the Mid Wales League (South) table.
Newcastle – who had been bottom of the table – beat visiting Felindre in south Shropshire and so they moved above the Reserves at the foot of the table.
But the Ressies have two games in hand over Felindre and one over third-bottom St Harmon.
So, it will be off to Llanidloes Town Reserves on Saturday, 5 October when the Reserves will attempt to get things back on track.
