Disappointing evening for the Reserves at Llanandras Park

Presteigne Reserves were narrowly beaten 2-1 by visiting Newcastle in their Mid Wales League (South) match at Llanandras Park on Wednesday, 6 November.

A goal down at half-time, Bryn Roberts’ side rallied after the break and were back on terms courtesy of a goal from Tom Crichton.

But just when it looked as though they were on for what most observers felt would have been a deserved point, Newcastle snatched a winner late on.

The winning goal came from a corner and it was hard on the home side who had competed well throughout.

But the Reserves will have to pick themselves up and go again on Saturday when they will host Llanfyllin Town in their delayed J Emrys Morgan Cup, second-round tie.

A reminder that game is due to kick off at 1.30pm.
