Committee members and friends of the club have undertaken a major spring – well, summer – clean of the clubhoue at Llananadras Park before the start of the new season.
While we are very grateful to those who have kept the ‘mothballed’ club in good shape over the lockdown period, it was agreed the enforced lack of use meant we needed a deep clean before any regular use of the clubhouse resumed.
So, well done to all those who donned the marigolds and took up the cleaning materials on the evening of Thursday, 1 July to ensure that, when fans return for football this season, the bar will be looking as good as it possibly can.
Our thanks go to MIke Preece and George Lancett for the work they have undertaken during lockdown – the paintwork looks fresh and it’s good to see all the pictures back up on the walls.
But the lack of activity at the club meant the glasses, optics and fridges all needed a thorough clean while table tops, window sills and other surfaces needed some attention.
It’s planned to introduce some picnic benches at the end of the clubhouse that will allow us to increase seating capacity when the restrictions are eased, while there will be a one-way system in place to meet Covid rules.
So, many thanks to those who turned out on Thursday night for the clean up operation – your efforts were much appreciated.
