There will be veritable feast of football at Llanandras Park with which to kick off the Bank Holiday weekend with two matches in less than 24 hours.
On Friday, 27 August, Presteigne St Andrews will host Penybont in their final warm up match ahead of the new season.
This is bound to be a good test as Penybont have traditionally been among the stronger sides in the Mid Wales League (South) while, like Presteigne, they have also enjoyed a spell in the Mid Wales League in recent seasons.
Having put up a good showing in their last outing at Holme Lacy, manager John Haycox will be looking for a morale-boosting performance to give them a platform for the start of the league campaign.
The kick off at Llananadras Park on Friday evening will be at 7.30pm.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, CP Llananadras will round off their preparations for the upcoming campaign with a home match against Tenbury Wells.
CP Llanandras have also had plenty of plus points to take from their warm up matches and while this will, perhaps, be more of an unknown quantity, it will certainly be a good test.
The bar and tea hut will be fully operational for both fixtures and it would be good to see people down at Llanandras Park to get behind their local teams.
The support so far for the warm up matches has been really good and we are very grateful to those who have turned out to give the teams their backing.
Saturday afternoon’s game for CP Llanandras is due to get underway at 2.30pm.
