Presteigne St Andrews FC opened their Mid Wales League (South) season in fine style when they won the derby game against CP Llanandras on Friday, 3 September.
John Haycox’s side was always in control in this one and were 2-0 up at half-time.
But it was in the second half when they really put their stamp on the game as they scored a further five goals to run out 7-0 victors.
But early reports suggest that CP Llanandras hung in there for long periods of the game and they will know they will have better opportunities to pick up points in the coming weeks and months.
