Presteigne St Andrews exited the Emrys Morgan Cup when they were beaten two-one by visiting Rhayader Town Reserves at Llanandras Park on Friday, 17 September.
The visitors had the better of things in the first half and appeared to be firmly in control when the players headed for the dressing room at the interval.
Rhayader’s second string led two-nil at the break but, to their credit, CP Llanandras dug deep in the second half.
Gareth Bull gave them real hope 20 minutes from time when he reduced arrears but that was as good as it got for Bryn Roberts’ side.
However, they will surely take heart from this showing – particularly in the second period when they clearly took the game to Rhayader.
Obviously, the fact they got back into the game was a bonus, but no doubt the fact they kept a clean sheet during the second 45 will also have given the management heart.
