Well done to John Haycox and his Presteigne St Andrews side for progressing in the Mid Wales League (South) Cup.
They travelled to south Shropshire to take on Newcastle in their first-round tie and came away with a 3-1 victory.
The Presteigne goal scorers were Josh Pearce, who needed a brace, and Liam Tomkins.
This result will no doubt give everyone in the squad a major lift and it’s to be hoped they can kick on from here.
Sadly, CP Llanandras were unable to emulate Presteigne’s achievement as they bowed out of the League Cup.
By the sound of things, Llanandras pushed Felindre close in their tie, but it was the home side that prevailed in this one coming through by two goals to one.
