Presteigne St Andrews FC are up to third place in the Mid Wales League (South) table after a 3-1 home win over Penybont United at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 6 November.
This was a very good win against Penybont side that is second in the table so it was clearly an important game for both teams.
But John Haycox’s side reportedly dug in when it really mattered and closed out what was ultimately a deserved victory.
Despite now being third, Presteigne will know it’s extremely competitive towards the top of the table.
They are now seven points behind Penybont although with three games in hand.
But is was a tough day for CP Llanandras who were beaten 8-0 in their match against Builth Wells Reserves at Lant Field.
Bryn Roberts’ side remains on the foot of the table and is still looking for its first point of the season.
But they have only played three matches so far this season so there is still plenty of times to turn things around.
Next Saturday will see CP Llanandras heading to Newcastle for their next league outing. Presteigne St Andrews will be in League Cup quarter-final action when they will head to Hay St Mary’s Reserves.
