It was to prove a frustrating round for both Presteigne St Andrews FC and CP Llanandras as both sides slipped to defeats.
CP Llanandras were first into action on Friday, 19 November when they took on a strong Brecon FC side at Llanandras Park.
Brecon arrived with a record of three wins from three Mid Wales League (South) fixtures so it was always likely to be a tough ask for Bryn Roberts’ side.
But CP Llanandras put up a valiant showing in going down two-nil – yes, a defeat, but there were plenty who felt the home side took plenty of credit from this performance.
Saturday afternoon saw Presteigne St Andrews make the trip to Penybont United – a Penybont side that Presteigne had beaten three-one at Llanandras Park only two weeks previously.
Again, the scoreline was three-one, but this time it was Penybont United that came out on top as Presteigne slipped to their third league defeat of the season.
Lewis Jones was on target for Presteigne St Andrews but, while John Haycox’s side also hit the woodwork and the home team keeper made a number of good saves, the general view was that, overall, Presteigne could have few complaints..
