Presteigne St Andrews FC will be back at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 22 January when they will host Newcastle in a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.
The kick off will be at 2.00pm and, given the easing of Covid-19 restrictions earlier this week, there should be no issue with crowd numbers so it’s hoped for a good turnout for the game.
This is all set up pretty well in that both sides have 13 points from eight league matches so far with Newcastle holding a slim advantage in the table as their goal difference is better by three.
Given both sides are nine points adrift of second-placed Penybont United – albeit with two games in hand – everyone involved will know the importance of a good result if they are to keep alive realistic hopes of a top-two finish.
Meanwhile, it will be a trip ‘up the valley’ for CP Llanandras who will head to Felindre on Saturday for their league outing.
No doubt there will be more of a spring in the step of the Llanandras squad as they prepare for this one after they picked up their first point of the league season last time out.
The 1-1 draw at Hay St Mary’s Reserves means CP Llanandras are only four points off second-bottom St Harmon so the incentive is there to build on last weekend’s result at Hay.
CP Llanandras’ match up at Felindre is also due to kick off at 2.00pm.
