With no game for Presteigne St Andrews FC, the focus on Saturday, 26 March was on CP Llanandras as they entertained Talgarth Town at Llanandras Park.
This was always likely to be a tough game for CP Llanandras as Talgarth would still have designs on a top-two finish in the Mid Wales League (South) this season.
Talgarth Town are currently sixth in the league table, but they have played on 14 league matches so far this season.
In the end, a goal in each half was to do it for Talgarth as they ran out two-nil winners.
But the early indications are that there were some plus points to take from this performance for Bryn Roberts’ side.
While it is never a totally accurate barometer of improved performances, there is no doubt that this was a step in the right direction as CP Llanandras had lost six-nil at Talgarth only a fortnight previously.
Elsewhere in the division, Penybont United missed out on the chance to go top when they were beaten two-nil at Newcastle, while Brecon stayed in touch with the leading clubs with a two-nil victory at Hay St Marys Reserves.
CP Llanandras will now have to wait a month for their final league match of the season in which they will travel to St Harmon on Saturday, 30 April.
