Presteigne St Andrews FC will round off their Mid Wales League (South) season on Saturday, 14 May when they will head to Builth Wells Reserves.
These sides will know each other well as this will be the third meeting in around three weeks.
First, there was the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales South Cup final in which John Haycox’s side pushed Builth all the way before going down three-two to a late goal.
But the league meeting at Llanandras Park last Saturday proved a much more one-sided affair as Buith Reserves ran out comfortable six-nil winners.
This win confirmed Builth Reserves as Mid Wales (South) League champions so they completed a league and cup double with Presteigne providing the opposition in the decisive game in both competitions.
Well done to Presteigne boss John Haycox who the title winners a bottle of champagne and a crate of beer to celebrate – a great gesture that was very well received by Builth Reserves
So, the curtain will come down on the 2021-22 Mid Wales (South) season tomorrow and here’s hoping Presteigne can come up with a solid showing with which to end the season.
