Presteigne St Andrews FC’s FAW Cup opponents – Trefonen FC – have announced they are to withdraw their application to join the Central Wales League North for the 2022-23 season.
In a statement on their social media sites, Trefonen reported that their management team had informed their committee they were moving on and so the club didn’t feel they were in a position to take up the Central Wales League place on offer.
The good news is the Pitmen very much plan to remain with the league structures – they have applied to rejoin the Montgomeryshire Amateur League for the coming campaign.
Our best wishes to Trefonen and their committee as, having been down that road ourselves, we know it’s not an easy time for anyone involved.
Trefonen are due at Llanandras Park for that FAW Cup tie on Saturday, 30 July.
