As with so many people across the country, Presteigne St Andrews FC are saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
Our thoughts are with the members of the Royal family at this sad time.
In common with all other clubs in the Mid Wales area, we await directives from the FAW and the Central Wales FA, but we were not due to have a first-team or Reserve-team game this weekend.
On the national scene we are advised that the Premier League will be led by the DCMS (Department for Culture, Media and Sport) guidance but footballing fixtures during the weekend look likely to be scrapped.
This includes the English top-flight, EFL, SPL, and Irish and Welsh league games with fixtures postponed – this is expected to be replicated to semi-pro and amateur sporting events.
There also confirmed protocols in place around horse racing and cricket.
There will be no further posts on the website or on the club’s social media until the formal period of official mourning is over.
