Presteigne Reserves’ scheduled Mid Wales League (South) fixture against Newcastle on Saturday, 17 September has been postponed.
In recent years, this would be down to one squad or the other ‘Rockin’ the Rona’, but this is not the case in this instance.
It is for the far more practical reason that the league is unable to provide a referee for the fixture.
While this is obviously disappointing for both squads and for us as the home side in particular as the bar was well stocked with the necessary ‘provisions’, it does serve to underline the acute shortage of match officials.
So, this game will have to be rescheduled for later in the season, but at least the league officials let us know in plenty of time.
So, attention will focus solely on the first team who will make the long trip to Aberaeron for their MMP Central Wales League (South) fixture.
