First team go down to narrow defeat

A long day trip to Aberaeron

A long trip, but a creditable performance from Corin Jones’ squad as they ended up going down by the odd goal in five in their MMP Central Wales South game at Aberaeron on Saturday, 17 September.

Jamie Blythe and Ruben were on target for Presteigne in a first half when, with the wind at their backs, they deservedly went in at the break leading by two goals to one.

The only regret was that the first team wasn’t leading by more at the break as there was always the danger the home side might capitalise when they had the advantage of the elements in the second half.

Sadly, this was how it turned out, but it was another spirited effort by the young squad who, on another day, could easily have taken something from the match.

Many thanks to all the supporters who made the long trip to Aberaeron for this one – just the two hours each way!

Next up – another away trip, but at least it’s to the much more familiar surroundings of St Harmon for our first-round match in the J Emrys Morgan Cup.

This game is due to take place on Saturday, 24 September and it’s assumed the kick off will be at 2.00pm to allow for extra time etc.

Should this be any different, I will amend this later in the week.
