Presteigne St Andrews gave a far better account of themselves in their most recent meeting with Tregaron Turfs on Saturday 22 October.
Yes, the visitors left for home with all three points after they ran out one-nil winners at Llanandras Park, but this was a major improvement on previous clashes between the sides.
One defensive slip was to cost Presteigne a chance of taking something from this one, but this was a far tighter contest than the previous meetings.
Well done to the youthful Presteigne squad for showing a great deal of character in digging in for this one – after heavy defeats against Tregaron Turfs in their previous meetings, it would have been easy for them to fold in this one.
But they didn’t – they worked hard throughout and the home-team supporters would have have headed for home disappointed by the result, but they would certainly have been heartened by the way the side kept going right to the final whistle.
Onwards and upwards and – with all due respect to Tregaron Turfs – it will be good to have a change of opposition in the coming weeks.
Mind you, Tregaron are probably thinking pretty much the same thing!
