Presteigne St Andrews FC went out of the Central Wales Challenge Cup at the first time of asking when they found Trewern United too strong in their first-round tie at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 5 November.
The Montgomeryshire side eased through to the second round with a 6-0 victory.
While it is always good to have a run in any Cup competition, it will be important Corin Jones and his squad ‘park’ this result as quickly as possible as they have an important league game scheduled for Saturday, 12 November.
Presteigne will head to a Talgarth Town side that is only one point and one place above them in the league table so this will be a chance to make progress in the Central Wales South.
No doubt Talgarth will be thinking exactly the same thing as the sides occupy two of the bottom three places with only Penybont United below them.
