Presteigne St Andrews FC returned home from their MMP Central Wales South fixture at Talgarth Town with a point from a 2-2 draw.
It was to prove something of a mixed afternoon for Presteigne’s Jamie Blythe.
On the plus side, he was to score both of Presteigne’s goals in this one, but he then received a red card late on following what was reportedly an incident of ‘handbags at fifteen paces’.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t so much at fifteen paces but was reportedly more of a Maori greeting of noses or foreheads coming together as a result of which Jamie was afforded first use of the hot water.
This was a shame as there is no doubt Presteigne had played their part in what had been a really competitive game.
The Reserves were in action at Newcastle on Saturday but unfortunately they were to be on the wrong end of one in south Shropshire.
The home side proved too strong on the day as they ran out winners by eight goals to nil.
There will be Wednesday-night football at Llanandras Park this week when Presteigne St Andrews FC will be in Radnorshire Cup action.
The first team will host an in-form Radnor Valley side in a first-round tie on Wednesday, 16 November when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
Then, on Saturday, 19 November, the first team will make the long trip north to Machynlleth while the Reserves are also on the road – they will go to St Harmon.
