Presteigne St Andrews were beaten six-nil in their MMP Central Wales South fixture at Machynlleth on Saturday, 19 November.
It was a struggle for manager Corin Jones to field a side for the long trip north as a number of players were unavailable for perfectly valid reasons.
Then some of the Reserve-team players who might have stepped up were also unable to make the trip as they had work commitments on Saturday morning.
While they might have been able to travel to St Harmon for the scheduled Reserves game, the distances involved in the journey to Machynlleth meant this was impossible and so this served only to add to Corin’s headaches ahead of the fixture.
Well done to those who did make the trip as we were looking a bit light on numbers as late as Saturday morning.
After the battling performance in the Radnorshire Cup tie against Radnor Valley, it was a shame circumstances meant the first team didn’t have the opportunity to build on that in this game.
But it’s a case of on to the next game which, for the first team, will be a home match against Aberystwyth University on Saturday, 26 November.
This game was originally scheduled for Monday, 21 November, but has since been moved to the following Saturday.
The Reserves are also due to be in action next Saturday – they will head to Felindre for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.
