Both the Reserve team and the Colts face matches on Wednesday 9 September with Newcastle facing their second trip to Presteigne in around a week as they head to Llanandras Park to play the Reserves.
Last week Newcastle had to work hard to beat CP Llanandras 2-1 on the John Beddoes School field and Barry Williams and his Reserves will have taken notice of that result. Newcastle fielded a youthful side that night so may well be in something of a transitional phase themselves, while the Reserves will be keen to bounce back from Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat by Talgarth Town.
CP Llanandras are on their travels – they go to Llandrindod Wells Colts looking for that elusive first league win of the season. It has been a frustrating start for Andy Crowe and his side as they have been competitive in all of the games in which they have featured so far, but have just pulled up short in several of them.
They will point to matches at Buith Wednesdays and Newbridge Reserves as being ‘ones that got away’, and will be looking to break their duck at Llandrindod. The Colts, though, gave the Reserves a good game at Llananadras Park earlier in the season so this is not promising to be an easy ride.
Both matches are due to kick off at 7.30pm.
There will be little let up in the hectic programme for the Reserves who will then return to action on Friday 11 September when they will host Penybont Athletic at Llanandras Park when the kick off will again be at 7.30pm.
