Among the issues discussed at the committee meeting on Tuesday 23 February was the club’s annual dinner and awards night and it is now almost certain this will be held at the Burton Hotel in Kington.
The date for the dinner has been set for Saturday 5 June – it would be difficult to hold it any earlier as if there is much more wintry weather then we could still be playing league games well into May, and then there are cup finals etc to fit in.
As for ticket prices, these will be confirmed as soon as the chairman Alan Randell and committee member Will Edwards have had a chance to go over to Kington and discuss the various menu options with the hotel management.
One issue was made clear – it will be up to individuals to arrange their own transport to and from the event as the club will not be laying on any transport. The reason for this is that the committee has tried to do this in the past and has ended up hiring and expensive coach with only a few people on it – and consequently a major financial loss.
However, it was pointed out there was nothing to stop the various teams getting together and organising a coach between them.
