Presteigne sides were to endure a tough weekend for a variety of reasons, but the upshot was that the club is out of the Welsh Cup at the first-round stage, while the Reserves’ match was abandoned due to the power failure that followed the tragic incident at Kington showground.

As for the Reserves, they were leading 2-0 in their Friday night match against visiting Penybont Athletic when the power cut that affected an area reportedly between Knighton and Bromyard led to the game being abandoned.
It was always likely to be tough for CP Llanandras in their game at Rhosgoch Rangers, but this was made doubly-difficult when manager Andy Crowe found his squad was down the the bare bones. Holidays, work commitments and general unavailability. So short were Llananadras that they travelled with the bare eleven, with manager Crowe naming himself as an unused substitute.
Well done to Adam Crowe who scored what is believed to be his first senior goal as CP Llanandras went down 4-1. So confident was the manager that he would not have to showcase his playing skills that he reportedly didn’t even bother to get changed…!
