While Presteigne St Andrews and their followers will be off to Hay St Marys for the Radnorshire Cup Final, there is no shortage of action in the Spar Mid Wales League today with five matches scheduled for Monday 5 April.
Leaders Carno will be hoping the weather in the Dyffryn Banw area has been kind over the weekend as they are due to visit – Banw’s scheduled Central Wales Cup tie against Llanidloes Town on Saturday was called off.
Penparcau are snapping at Carno’s heels at the top of the table – ‘arky have an attractive-looking derby game at home to an Aberystwyth Reserves side that will certainly not have given up hopes of winning the league.
There is also a decent-looking game in prospect at Tywyn Bryncrug where Bow Street will be the visitors. While both are still very much in the shake up for the title race, both will go into the game knowing that defeat is not really an option if they want to remain in the mix.
Again, losing is not really an option for either side taking to the field for the bottom-of-the-table clash at Dolgellau where Llanfyllin Town will be the visitors.
All of these matches are due to kick off at 2.30pm, while there is one evening game in which Llanrhaeadr will look to stay in touch at the top by beating visiting Llansantffraid Village, although they will feel that an away win tonight would just about ensure they stay in the reckoning. This one is due to kick off at 5.30pm.
