It is ‘as you were’ at the top of the Mid Wales League (South) following Tuesday night’s round of matches in which three of the top clubs were involved.

While CP Llanandras were doing their level best to make it an uncomfortable evening for the leaders Rhosgoch Rangers at the John Beddoes School field, Newbridge Reserves were doing likewise for Builth Wells before Builth, too, came through 2-1 away from home.

Llandrindod Wells had little problem it seems in breezing past Builth Wednesdays – they returned home with a 7-0 victory under their belts.

Elsewhere, Penybont United beat Rhayader Town Reserves 2-1 at the Racecourse, while Talgarth Rovers were also 2-1 winners against visiting Sennybridge.

It’s reported that Talgarth Rovers’ involvement in the league is likely to be a brief one – the news from that corner of Brecknock is that the Town and Rovers clubs plan to merge next season.

The upshot of last night’s results is that Rhosgoch still lead the league by two points from Builth Wells, but Builth have two games in hand.  Llandrindod are up to third place but are a further three points back.

There is no change in the bottom half of the table as all of the clubs that played lost, so CP Llanandras remain in 16th position but were they to get a better result on Saturday than Radnor Valley, then ‘Crowie’s’ side would go up a place.

CP Llanandras will host the bottom side St Harmon, while Radnor Valley will be at home to Talgarth Rovers.
