Preview of the weekend action

Presteigne St Andrews FCWith Presteigne St Andrews due at Latham Park to take on Newtown Reserves on Friday 9 April, most attention on Saturday 10 April will focus on the top-of-the-table clash at Carno in which the leaders will take on second-placed Penparcau.

Rhayader are level on points with the top two and they will be confident of keeping up the pressure when they head to struggling Dolgellau.

Llansantffraid Village will host Bow Street in a game neither side can afford to lose if they are to keep up the pressure on the leaders, while Llanrhaeadr will need to see off Waterloo Rovers if they are to climb to fourth place above Aberystwyth Reserves who don’t have a game.

Towards the foot of the league, Newbridge will be hopeful of a home win over Llanfyllin Town as they look to put further distance between themselves and the foot of the table while basement side Caersws Reserves face a trip to Dyffryn Banw.

In the day’s other game, Tywyn Bryncrug will look to stay in touch with the top sides with a home win over Hay St Marys.

In the Mid Wales League (South) the leaders Rhosgoch Rangers face a top-of-the-table clash with visiting Talgarth Town while Builth Wells will be looking to take advantage of any Rhosgoch slip-up by beating visiting Knighton Town.

While Presteigne Reserves are probably out of the title race itself, they are still targeting a top-four finish so will be chasing three points at home to Builth Wednesdays.   CP Llanandras will go search of their fifth league win of the season at home to bottom side St Harmon.

There are four other league matches on Saturday – Llandrindod Wells Colts host Rhayader Town Reserves while Hay St Marys Reserves face a trip to Sennybridge.    Penybont United will head to Newcastle, while Radnor Valley will be at home to Talgarth Rovers.

Meanwhile, Llandrindod Wells will go in search of a place in the Mid Wales League (South) cup final when they travel to Penybont Athletic in their semi-final.
