Mixed day for our ‘South’ sides

It was to prove a mixed day for our clubs in the  Mid Wales League (South) as the Reserves pulled out a comfortable win, but CP Llanandras had one of those days that they will just want to put behind them as quickly as possible.

First, the good news – Presteigne Reserves were 4-0 winners in their home game against Builth Wednesdays at Llanandras Park.

Rob Williams netted twice for Barry Williams’ side with Alan Stocker and Jack Bowen also on target as the Reserves kept alive their hopes of a top-four finish.

But it wasn’t to be for CP Llanandras who by all accounts – or, to be more accurate, all the accounts I have heard so far – failed totally to maintain their good showing against Rhosgoch in the week when they hosted bottom side St Harmon.

The Swifts headed home with what was only their second league win of the season courtesy of a 5-2 success – well done to them for that, but this was not a great showing from the home side.

Nathan Rogers and Mike Lewis were on target for ‘Crowie’s’ side but, while taking nothing away from St Harmon, initial reports suggest this was not a game that is likely to live long in the memory…
