Bow Street are up to third place in the Spar Mid Wales League as a result of their 3-0 home win over struggling Dolgellau last night.
They go above Carno on goal difference and are three points behind the leading pair of Penparcau and Rhayader Town.
In the night’s other game at this level Waterloo Rovers came away from Dyffryn Banw with a 2-0 victory – a result that leaves Banw in ninth place in the table, so one place and one point better off than Presteigne St Andrews.
While most attention in this particular parish was firmly focused on last night’s derby game at Llanandras Park, there were three other games in the Mid Wales League (South).
Towards the top of the table, Llandrindod Wells kept up the pressure on the leading two clubs with a 3-0 home win over Radnor Valley at The Broadway.
Elsewhere, Hay St Marys Reserves were 3-1 home winners over Talgarth Rovers while St Harmon will be reflecting on what might have been after they recorded their second successive league victory.
They followed up the 5-2 win at CP Llanandras on Saturday with a 4-2 home victory over second-bottom Penybont Athletic and so move to within a point of Athletic at the foot of the table.
